After winning their second game with 40+ points in a 41-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 5, the Chicago Bears will return from their bye week confident and well rested. Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman repeated apart of their defensive efforts of last week's performance with both returning interceptions for touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite an early interception and a late scare with an injury to Brandon Marshall, they were in full charge of this game.
They will host the Detroit Lions (1-3), who are last in NFC North, for a divisional match on Monday NIght Football October 22nd..
The offense is clicking (29.8 ppg) and the defense still dominates leading the NFL in takeaways (17). The Bears are shaping up as favored to win their division, although the Vikings are holding the first place seat with a 1-0 record to the NFC North versus the Bears 0-1 divisional standing with a week 2 loss to Green Bay Packers.
It has been 27 years since they've captured a Super Bowl title. They were contenders for the NFC conference title in 2011, and started in 2010 with a winning seasonn and high hopes before injuries plagued the team and doomed their playoff hopes.
While there is a lot of football left, their season looks promising.
