Did Chris Johnson's Comments Spark Titans Win vs Steelers?

Just one game after Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson released a statement about the team's performance, they claimed a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Thursday Night Football. His statements were about the team not being close or having a chance at the playoffs, and he also stated that they need someone in the locker room to give this team a spark. I thought the statement was unprofessional and also made him look bad, but since they won after his remarks, I’m thinking, was it frustration and a subliminal way of injecting a spark into his team?

Chris Johnson who is ranked 17 amongst NFL running backs, rushed for 91 yards in Thursday night's game. Matt Hasselbeck got his first victory with his second start at a quarterback as a Titan, replacing injured Jake Locker. He registered 290 yards through the air with a QB rating of 75.0, and a TD/INT, with a completion of 56.8. His opponent Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) also had a TD/INT on 363 passing yards with a QB rating, 87.8.

The fate of the game was on the kickers. Pittsburgh missed a 52 yard field goal attempt that would've put them ahead 26-23, but kicker Shaun Suisham failed to connect, falling short and very close to the field goal post. This set up a final opportunity for the Titans to win the game.

Hasselbeck completed a drive that placed his team in field goal position, and called a timeout with about 5 seconds remaining to set up for 3 points. Titans kicker, Rob Bironas was able to nail the 42 yard field goal, while Ben Roethlsiberger watched in extreme disappointment. Tennessee sealed the deal, 26-23.

Have the Titans resurrected their chances of moving forward? Does CJ23 need to be the "motivational speaker" and make more comments to spark his team?" The Titans are now 2-4, last in AFC South.
