Just a week after returning from a concussion injury, RG3 had a phenomenal performance and set a Redskins single season NFL record by a QB, with a rushing touchdown for 76 yards. I certainly did not see the play coming! His performance after returning from the injury reminded me of the movie Rookie of the Year, how the kid hurt his arm and his injury led him to be a star pitcher and Rookie of the Year for the Chicago Cubs. Speaking of, can you hear, Rookie of the Year award for Robert Griffin III? I certainly can. @SteveMariucci stated on @NFL_AM that he thinks he will probably win it.

RG3 returned to football as if nothing happened. In his
interviews all week following the concussion, he stated, “I’m fine.” He looked
very content. He returned to his team to help lift them to a 38-26 victory over
the Minnesota Vikings in week 6.
Robert Griffin III will face a big test on Sunday October
21, when he and the Washington Redskins travel to Metlife Stadium in East
Rutherford, NJ to meet Eli Manning and the reigning Super Bowl champions, New
York Giants. This has to be an exciting moment for any rookie playing in the
NFL for the first time against a reigning champion quarterback. He will face
his divisional opponent, Giants again on Monday Night Football, December 3. Week
7’s matchup will be just as intense as a nationally televised prime time game.
Griffin III has 1,343 passing yards for the season, with an
average of 224 per game. He will face a Giants defense that is allowing 257
PYG. He also has 6 rushing touchdowns
for the season on an average of 63.2 rushing yards per game. That is a pretty
effective balance that can present problems for any defense in the NFL.
The Giants will be coming off a dominant week 6 victory,
where they only allowed 3 points against the now number 1 NFC West team, San
Francisco 49ers that just won Thursday Night Football and allowed 6 points.
Just as calm and confident as RG3 was about returning from
the concussion, I think he has the same contentment and confidence for his bout
with the New York Giants.
The NFC East Showdown is on! Get your beer, popcorn, and all
the good football Sunday stuff ready for this game!
