One thing for certain about Super Bowl 47, it answered a few questions.

1.      1. Did the stadium power outage shortly after halftime in the Super Dome effect the momentum of the game with the Ravens up 28-6?
2.      2. The talk of Joe Flacco’s contract talks and him being an elite quarterback.

It was an interesting quite intriguing Super Bowl. I’ve never seen anything like it in my history of watching NFL football.  From the power outage to the flags for two offside calls on the 49ers defense in the same play, even David Akers missed field goal that was called back, but made on the next attempt. It was a great game.

The Baltimore Ravens did everything right from the start and that was the ultimate decider of this game. They undoubtedly were in command offensively and defensively. They disabled all of Colin Kaepernick’s options, even the option to run.

The 49ers offense was out of sync. Wide receiver Michael Crabtree was the only factor. He caught a few passes for short yards, but nothing significant to advance the 49ers offense. When the 49ers responded, it was too late, despite still having time and opportunities. They missed them.

Crabtree reminded me of his days in Texas Tech with his catches and agility to shake defenders and run in for the touchdown. He had 5 recepetions,109 yards, 1 TD. Colin Kaepernick ran one in for the TD. Frank Gore also chipped in on a touchdown.

Baltimore Ravens won this game when they took the lead 28-6 before the half. It was evident in the 49ers play and emotions that their confidence was a little shaken. They pulled a comeback but it wasn’t enough to keep the franchise record of undefeated Super Bowl’s.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco earned the MVP, and says, “I’m a Raven for life.” He won the Super Bowl with 287 yards, and 3 touchdowns on 22 of 33 passing.  Anquan Boldin was big in the Ravens win with 6 receptions, 104 yards and 1 TD. He didn’t win in Super Bowl XLIII with the Arizona Cardinals against Pittsburgh Steelers, but he did tonight.

Ray Lewis goes out a winner. It is the second Super Bowl for Ravens and the first Super Bowl loss for the 49ers franchise. They were 5-0 in Super Bowl appearances.
