How Can the New York Giants Make the Playoffs

@nategrayzone

In considering if the Giants can turn their season around, there are mainly two things that can save them.

1.) They are playing in a subpar NFC East division where the top team, Dallas Cowboys are 2-3.

2.) Eli Manning gets a grip on his passing game and 'stop playing for the other teams!' 15 interceptions to date as of 10/12/13, ending week 6.

In the past few seasons, New York Giants has been known for slow starts and somewhat mediocre records, and still make the playoffs. In both of the last two Super Bowls they won, they finished 10-6 in the regular season and were underdogs.

2013 is shaping up to be a different story. They are 0-6 for the first time since 1976 after they fell to the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football 10/10/13. Just under 60 seconds into the game, Eli Manning threw his 13th interception of the season. On his very next drive, came his 14th INT. Finally he recorded his 15th INT in the final minutes when he tried for a winning drive.

It may be tough at this point to turn around an 0-6 record. If they start a major winning streak, and the Dallas Cowboys start falling, that will be NYG's only hope to see the 2013 playoffs. Dallas  seems to be the team that wll fair best in the NFC East so far. Tony Romo had the game of his life in a week 5 loss versus Denver Broncos. RG3 is not having a good year with the Redskins, and the Eagles don't show any impressive signs of coming out on top.

I am projecting the Dallas Cowboys to finish 10-6 or 9-7 which will still have them first in NFC East at the rate their division competition is going.

Eli's confidence, along with entire NYG faculty has gotten to be struck by now. Some things are fixable, but unfortunately, this just may not be the 'Year of the Giant'.
