NBA Season Opener Prediction: Derrick Rose 40 Points Versus Miami Heat, Bulls Win

@nategrayzone

The long awaited return of Derrick Rose in a NBA regular season game happens Tuesday night, October 29, 2013 in American Airlines Arena. He and the Bulls will face the NBA champions, Miami Heat on their ring ceremony night.

All eyes will be on Rose as the critics watched him recover from his ACL injury last season and said he should have returned to help his team in the playoffs. It was not wise for Rose to return and he made the right decision to remain out. Even if he did make a comeback, Chicago was not fit to win a championship.

Derrick Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history is just one man, one player. His on court presence however does make a difference in Chicago Bulls basketball.

Now the 2013-14 NBA season is underway, what will Rose do?

A few things we know and have observed thus far:

He is:
- had a phenomenal preseason
-and averaged a point per minute through his first few games of preseason. For example, in his return to the United Center, he scored 22 points in 22 minutes.

True it was preseason, but Rose and the Bulls gave a good preview of what to expect from them for 2013-14.

I am making a bold prediction that Rose will score 40 points against the Heat in the season opener.

@nategrayzone picks Bulls over Heat by 8.
Rose: 40 points, 8.5 assists

Noteable: Watch out for rookie Tony Snell, prediction 12.4 points season average, 8-13 points in Heat season opener.

I honestly don't watch much collegiate sports. As a result, I've never heard of Tony Snell until the start of the preseason. From all the hype that has been posted about him, I'm excited to see how well he adjusts to the start of his NBA career.

Thanks for your comment Mike! I dont watch collegiate sports as much as I used to but I still know a lil bit of what's going on. I've been hearing about Snell then I like what I seen from him in preseason. I think he is a good player. like all other newcomers, he will just have to develop and grow accordingly.
