Rose, Slow Start but Enough to Save the Game. Bulls Beat Knicks 82-81

D.Rose is getting acclimated and readjusting to NBA basketball. The Miami Heat gave him a wake-up call in the season opener the way he was attacked defensively.

Despite a slow start and finding his rhythm this season, he saved the night for the Chicago Bulls. Rose secured the 82-81 victory over the New York Knicks with 5.7 seconds remaining with the one hand shot over two defenders.

Chicago led most of the game through the end of the third until New York outscored them in the fourth and tied it with about less than 5 minutes remaining. Spike Lee even came to the Windy City to be with his New York Knicks. He was not too happy when Rose made the final shot.

Rose was the leading scorer for Chicago finishing on 7-23 field goals. TNT’s David Aldridge asked Rose at halftime about the missed shots. He replied, “Oh I missed more shots than that before.” He clearly wasn’t worried about finding his game.

The Knicks were led by Carmelo Anthony with 22 points.

Besides the game saver shot, the Bulls fate was almost decided by being outrebounded in the final four minutes of regulation following several missed shots by the Knicks. It almost happened again after Chicago took the 82-81 lead when NYK had one final chance to win, but Tyson Chandler (NYK) failed to get a good grip on the loose ball off the missed shot and couldn’t grab the rebound.

The buzzer sounded and the fans of the Madhouse on Madison were pleased. Chicago Bulls are 1-1. They travel to meet the 76ers on Saturday November 2.
