I was inspired by the recent launch of Daymond John’s Blueprint+ Co.
2 key points I learned from Daymond launching his new business in this Forbes article are:
1. Be clear and specific: I hear it all the time about being clear and specific with your goals, and it has made more and more sense over time. Daymond had a very specific goal about the requirements for being a part of his new business. The article states, “John is specifically targeting a narrow segment of the co-working market. Blueprint + Co only welcomes companies that have raised $250,000 or have annual revenue of $250,000 or more.” He was not scattered and random. Otherwise, the business process may not have been as successful.
2. Business continuity: Here, I am not speaking continuity in the general terms of businesses having a plan to continue in case there is some type of disaster or immediate threat to the business. I am talking about ways of expanding a business and creating other businesses just as Daymond John plans to expand globally with Blueprint Co and as mentioned in Forbes, continue growing Daymond on Demand, his web based training for entrepreneurs. Never know how far you are going to go. You just have to keep going and don't stop!
I know John has multiple businesses, I am inspired by seeing the success of at least 3 of his businesses.
1. FUBU in which I was a fan of in my teen years and my days of rapping, dreaming to become a big famous rapper. I am inspired by his story of how he worked at Red Lobster saving his tip money while working on FUBU on the side. This aligns with my message in my new book, A Winning Perspective point about how to make your job work for you in this article I previously released.
2. Shark Tank, one of my favorite business entrepreneur shows I watch to soak up knowledge and be inspired not only by Daymond but all the Sharks, and even listening to other businesses pitch the Sharks. By the way, you can read about other "Sharks" I shared A Winning Perspective on, click here for Barbara Corcoran and here for Kevin Harrington
3.) Blueprint+ Co. In my following Daymond, @PowerofBroke, and @hustlebranding on social media, I’ve been hearing of the process of launching this new company, Blueprint+ Co.
